Hi everyone in the forum!
Just wanted to keep you up to date with developments with our new digital hologram printer.

We are close to launching our latest printer which is vastly superior to anything else in the world.

Oooh... the possibilities!!
Anyway, the example on your website looks to me like a photograph of an architectural model. Perhaps a little more explanation on your web page of what one is actually seeing would help? Obviously, there is a difficulty in representing a 2-D simulation of simulated 3-D imagery using a 2-D simulation  but... some sort of 'before' [i.e. the source material from the architects] and 'after' shot, or a shot of the actual image surface in a prosaic setting to give clues as to the difference between real and virtual as, at the moment, we're only seeing image content rather than 'the image as object' sorta thing?

Hi Gordon
The original file was created by the architect in 3dstudiomax (i believe).
We then took that file and with the client/architect decided which view looked best and added movement onto a timeline. This was then digitally printed on our holographic printer.
It is of course impossible to show 3d images in a 2d format and even when its recorded on say a camcorder, the effect is still lost. The only way to appreciate them is when you are standing infront of them.
Where are you based in Scotland? Going to Edinburgh for the tattoo and festival next week (used to live there) and might have that hologram with me to take to Camera Obscura.

I lived there as a student. Now I live on the 'other side' heh.
I may be over at the festival sometime... at the weekend possibly or the following Friday...
