I was wondering what kind of opinions were out there about tilt-up concrete construction. It sounds like a great method for certain projects, and it certainly seems efficient and economical. What do all of you other architect guys and gals think? What are its limits? Is a design/build contractor helpful to have for such a project?
Thanks! |

Tilt-up reinforced concrete construction system is extensible used in So California for big industrial, warehouses, distribution center buildings. There are many technical manuals, trade associations and magazines availabe with excellent information in the subject.

| Our firm did a Boys & Girls Club center in tilt slab. It was originally slated to be CMU; however, the decision to tilt slab was made for budgetary reasons (there were design changes made to adapt it). It was a lot of fun for the office to go out to the job site and watch the lifting. |
