I am working on a project looking at the different uses of structural steel in tension.
I am exploring what has been done and what could be done.
Most applications are used as light weight roof membrane structures, but what are other possibilities of steel in tension and lightweight membranes?
--Primarily looking at the uses of this property in the vertical direction.
This is a general discussion on Tensile Architecture. _________________ Jon Bailey

YOU SHOULD CONTACT "Engineering Forum"
STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS USE STEEL STRUCTURES MORE OFTEN THAN ARCHITECTS.
GREAT EXAMPLES OF ARCHITECTURAL TENSIL STEEL ARE FOUND IN BRIDGE ARCHITECTURE, SEE THE OAKLAND BAY BRIDGE, CA. THE TACOMA NARROWS BRIDGE, WA., AND MANY OTHERS |
