I have a Vintage Hamilton Drafting Desk that I would like to sell. The table's serial number is 28J51-J6996-64 and I believe that it was made in the early 50's. The body of the desk is metal and the top of the desk is wood. The attached drafting table can be both lifted and slanted. There is a straightedge and a pencil tray attached to the drafting table. The desk has three drawers for storage. I realize that this desk is very well made. I would like to know how to determine the value of this Hamilton Desk, plus how and where can I sell it. Since it is large, 40" x 60", I am not sure how I would go about marketing this desk. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Hi cindy,
E bay is probably your best bet. The old oak desk seem to be the only tables worth very much and then only if you are close enough to be picked up. Shipping can be $300-$400 easy on these tables, truck freight is expensive and not easy unless you have a loading dock. Sometimes the drafting machine on the table is worth more than the table itself. Pictures help alot and good discreption( height adjustable, electric or manual, drafting machine, surface condition, crating and shipping available.
Hope this helps,
Tom Very Happy

Hi Cindy, I'm an interior designer in Boston and in need of a drafting desk. Just curious if you can send me photos of it.
Thanks,
Micha

Dear Micha,

Thank you for responding. I have already sold my drafting desk. I hope you will have luck finding another desk. I ended up selling it by listing it in a local newspaper. Maybe you will have luck locating one in a local newspaper yourself. Good Luck!

cindy

A woman just emailed me to let me know she just paid $2800 for a table identical to my vintage Hamilton (on this site). Good luck!
