I am Nikhil Tembulkar, Chief Architect and designer of "Tembulkar Design Shop". I run my own design set up in Pune, India since December 2005 with an aim to provide an effective solution to modern day design issues
I believe in the value of time, function, creative innovation and attention to detail as the foundation of my approach towards my practice
Being originally from Bombay, I have graduated in 1996 and have since then worked in Pune, Mumbai and New York. Over the years I have worked with some of the best in the industry like Brennan Beer Gorman Architects, Tibett Abbott Mc Carthy and Stratton (TAMS), Gordon H Smith curtain wall consultants among others.
My experience is chiefly in transportation, restoration, residential and commercial building types. On these various projects, I have been involved with design development and construction along with project management. Working also on a historic restoration projects, with my counterparts, I studied surveying existing building problems and came up with innovative design solutions combining the latest technology and methods of rehabilitation.
I have bagged some coveted awards like the American Architecture Award, the Lucy E Moses award and the NYACE Award.
I came back from New York to set up my own practice. Ever since I continue to work with experienced professionals from the arts, design and construction industry. My firm has since then been involved in consultancy for interior and design and is currently working on residential turnkey projects, corporate interiors and industrial set ups.
