Report on studies published in Science and the Journal of Glaciology...
"Two new satellite surveys show that warming air and water are causing Antarctica to lose ice faster than it can be replenished by interior snowfall, and thus are contributing to rising global sea levels.
"Images From NASA's Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment
The studies differed significantly in estimates of how much water was being added to the oceans this way, but their authors both said that the work added credence to recent conclusions that global warming caused by humans was likely to lead to higher sea levels than previous studies had predicted."

I saw a report on "Sixty Minutes" a week ago in which a researcher made the claim that the cycle of warming/rising sea levels will continue now for decades, whether changes are made to the emission of greenhouse gasses, etc or not. (The claim was not made that lowering emissions would not affect the rate and severity of change. . .)
I wonder if the "flat-earthers" who deny global warming and/or man's part in the process, will seize on this to announce that we shouldn't bother to try to affect the change that is taking place "because it's going to happen anyway". . .?

WASHINGTON - The Earth is the hottest it has been in at least 400 years, probably even longer. The National Academy of Sciences, reaching that conclusion in a broad review of scientific work requested by Congress, reported Thursday that the "recent warmth is unprecedented for at least the last 400 years and potentially the last several millennia."
