My bedroom has vaulted ceilings and I have no lighting other than 2 small lamps.
What is my best option for instaling lighting? Recessed lighting or sconces?
PLEASE HELP. |

Recessed light fixtures in the vaulted ceiling would be one possibility. You would have to check to see if there is enough room to install them. That may depend on the roof and ceiling construction. If the roof is constructed of rafters, there may not be enough space between the ceiling and the roof to install recessed light fixtures while providing enough space around the fixture and also having adequate insulation when you are finished. If the roof and ceiling is constructed with scissor trusses, then there might be enough room. If there is not enough room, then you could consider a surface mounted light fixture or a pendant light fixture.
Wall sconces are an option and are often easier to install. They can be mounted on the wall, often above an electrical outlet, making wiring easier.
I assume you have ruled out using a larger floor lamp, or bedroom furniture with built-in lighting, although these are sometimes the easiest solution to inadequate lighting.
You might want to consider the advantages of a ceiling fan with a light fixture attached.
Wiring can be concealed or exposed when used with a chain for a decorative effect. |
