The site deals with the residential owner/builder market. You can get specs for equipment, heating and cooling load calculations, and duct layouts without dealing with the contractor. This is good to have before shopping around. It is the only way to compare apples with apples.
The owner/builder can actually get all the info they need ahead of time so the constractors have to bid on the the good stuff! This saves the owner/builder a lot of time and money in the long run. No more trying to hold costs down when expensive adds that should have been included are being suggested after the contract is signed.
