Hi to all the users of my utility.
As I am still running on a PPC Mac at home I will not be in a position update my Preference Utility to handle PowerCADD 8 straight away. This will be probably be the status until I upgrade my home Mac to Intel but I don't know when that will happen. I might be able to grab the Macbook Pro from work to do this but it appears the boss has grafted it into his skin.
If you are a user of the utility, I can only strongly recommend that you use it to save or update your preferences BEFORE you install and run PC8. At least that will give you the option to revert to running PC7 if you need to and it will most likely help you when I upgrade the Utility to handle PC8's preference files.
The good news is that I've already started upgrading the program to do many of the things you've asked for. Hopefully I'll be able to release the new version soon.

Thanks for the tip, Jason, and thanks for the Preference Utility. I have found the utility very useful and would look forward to a PC8 version (assuming I get my recently ordered PC8 upgrade soon).

As a long standing PowerBook user with external display on the desktop, your utility is a real blessing. Hope you get your own Intel Mac soon. (I still haven't made the jump yet myself, but I guess it's due soon.) _________________ Rob

This post is mainly just to bump for this topic now that PowerCADD 8 is shipping.
Even though I don't yet have PC8 I've done most of the coding in my Pref Utility to handle it. I understand the International Version of PC8 will be shipping buy the end of the month. Hopefully I'll be able to release the Utility shortly after that.
So my advice still stands, use the current version of the Utility to backup your PC6 or PC7 preferences before you upgrade to PC8. Then you'll be able to reactivate them if you need to after you upgrade.
